ABOUT

MY JOURNEY:
I've always been a sporty person, doing several sports when I was younger like skiing, tennis, cycling. I started training in my basement in 2016 when I was 15 with some dumbbells and a bench, with the simple goal of building a great physique via weightlifting. I loved the process of working out, and in 4 years I achieved a great physique! But my body felt immobile, tight and fragile, like I could injure myself with just the slightest mistake. I looked in shape, but I didn't FEEL healthy.

I got into calisthenics & flexibility in 2020 during the covid lockdowns. I had the initial goal of learning the handstand, but I eventually completely fell in love with the challenge and discipline it taught me to have, and I began chasing the more advanced skills. After 4-5 years I had achieved some of my dream moves like the handstand push-up, side splits, one arm-chin-up and many others!
I was very proud of my achievements, but I didn't feel particularly functional nor athletic. Definitely more than my weight training days, but I still felt that my body was capable of far more.

And then I discovered movement training: a form of exercise that prioritises the movement of your entire body, focusing on functionality and fluidity.
I delved right in and quickly started feeling the benefits: I got stronger in ranges of motion I never knew I could ever be strong in, my coordination skyrocketed, allowing me to think and remain focused whilst at a high intensity. My mood and sleep quality improved, my weak links started going away, and I became fitter than ever before without having to destroy my body to get there.

The journey continues!!
AND HERE WE ARE NOW, TEN YEARS ALREADY!

I've absolutely adored the journey and how much it's taught me about myself and what I'm capable of when. Learning to push through and really going for what I want to achieve, teaching me discipline, and just finding a passion that I love doing and that I want to help others with finding out for themselves!
I can't wait for the next 10 years and the kind of person I'll be by then, bring it on!

WHY MOVEMENT TRAINING?
I find that movement training encapsulates all the elements of what it means to be fit and healthy:

-
Fluid and pain-free movement;
-
Accessible mobility;
-
Strength endurance;
-
A strong cardiovascular system;
-
Left to right & full-body coordination;
-
High levels of cognititve function;
-
Functional strength that can be used in everyday life;
-
A healthy relationship with food and diet;
-
Prioritising good sleep and high quality recovery;
-
Lots of social connections with friends and/or family.

Movement training is perfect at building a well-rounded, athletic and efficient physique. I like to think that it makes your body into a jack of all trades, making you proficient in so many areas with no disernable weak links.

I believe that everyone should be training this way, in a way that focuses on your health and movement, not solely aesthetics. No matter your age or experience, we all should get to feel free in our bodies.
Not to mention I've had the most fun in my sessions thanks to movement training: the satisfaction of being able to flow through such an array of moves so seamlessly, it's made me realise fitness should be something we all enjoy doing, and I believe Movement Training is the best way to train.
WHY YACHTIES?
Yachties are a reltaively niche group that I feel could greatly benefit from my coaching and style of training: they work long hours, have limited space and equipment, and their work can be very awkward & physcially demanding, draining on not just the body, but mind as well, leading to a high risk of burnout and even injury.

Movement training fits in perfectly because it can be performed with little to no equipment, in tight spaces, and builds functional and intelligent strength throughout the whole body, making those once awkwards positions and movements far more comfortable and safe.

Not to mention it's very fun and makes you feel amazing!
